Conserving Habitat important to Waterfowl and Waterfowlers

Wisconsin is duck-breeding state, contributing large numbers of ducks and geese to the Mississippi flyway. Most ducks harvested by state waterfowlers are hatched in the state—so robust programs that support brood rearing are important to state waterfowlers.

Our team of ecologists restore wetlands as small as 3 acres and as large as 3,000 acres on both public and private lands.  Help us focus focus on the highest priority wetlands by suggesting your own or public properties <link to habitat form>>.

Volunteers play a big role in our conservation programs.   They maintain local wildlife areas alongside DNR biologists, install and maintain duck nesting structures collect wild rice and more. Join our team and get your fingernails dirty!
